Communications Assistant (Intern)

Fixed term contract to December 2024 with the possibility of extension

Part time: 15 Hours per week Salary: £13.15 per hour

Location: Central London (hybrid)

Daughters of Charity Services operates as a family of charities across Britain, providing a diverse range of services to various communities in need of support.

We are looking for a Communications Assistant to support with the internal and external communications of our Charity, assisting the Research & Policy Officer with the planning, writing, and managing relevant material. You will gather engaging stories and multimedia content from the charities within our group in order to develop newsletters and for the development of engaging impact reports. You will help to ensure that evidence from across the group feeds into our wider communications and campaigns work.

You will need to have a firm grasp of social media tools and platforms, and have the skills to be able to seek out and engage with those whose stories we want to share. You should have good knowledge and understanding of poverty and social disadvantage, and its impact on peoples’ lives. Previous related experience is desirable but not essential, and you must possess excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.

We offer: 12 days annual leave (including bank holidays) pro rata; pension scheme; Life Assurance; hybrid working and flexible working requests are welcome.
